Comment en profiter
The main Greater Stone Forest area has marked paths through the densest pillar clusters; the quieter Naigu Stone Forest nearby has fewer crowds and a rawer, less manicured feel for those with extra time. Most visitors go as a half-day or full-day trip from Kunming by tour bus, train, or private car.

Go early to beat both the crowds and the midday heat, since much of the walking path has little shade.
