Quan Zhou

Quanzhou was once one of the world's busiest ports — the eastern terminus of the Maritime Silk Road where Arab, Persian, Jewish, and South Asian merchants lived alongside Chinese traders for centuries. Its UNESCO-listed old quarter contains mosques, Hindu temples, and Taoist shrines within walking distance of each other, a living record of medieval globalisation that most tourists completely miss.
